Oakland Open Lab 12/1/13

Let's celebrate the first day in December together!

Sunday, 2-5pm at the Oakland Lab (6036 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland)

Featured Projects:

Electric Ornaments (photo coming soon)

Use conductive thread, LEDs, super strong magnets, fabric and a good ole fashioned needle and thread. Extra sparkly bits, fabric pens and extras will also be on hand so you can make your project fabulous. This project is most suitable for kids 8 and up. It takes about 34/45 min. to complete the basic circuit.

(Materials Fee $12)

Fingerless Gloves

Come and make some fingerless gloves for the holidays!   Go wild with ribbons, fur, appliques and buttons, or stick with basic black -- whatever suits your personal style.  The basic glove is simple and quick so you can make a bunch and give them as gifts.  You can bring in your own sewable trim (or skill badges!) to customize your gloves.  If you happen to have a stash of buttons, beads, fleece, cloth ribbon, or other sewing decorations that's taking up room in your closet, bring it in for others to enjoy.  (Materials Fee: $5)

Choose from an excellent assortment of electronic kits to complete- mentoring available if needed!

(Materials Fee: varies $9-25)
